Lawyer files complaint against green activist
Chennai: Lawyer Durai Pandian, against whom green activist Nisha Thota on Monday lodged a complaint of harassment and threat with the city police commissioner, on Tuesday approached the city police claiming that he was threatened by her and her friend.
The lawyer in his complaint agreed that he had visited the house of Nisha along with residents association chief of Fomra TriÂbhuvan apartment in NolÂaÂmbur to talk about a water leakage in her apartment.
Nolambur police station inspector Jawahar on Tuesday afternoon said a senior level enquiry is to decide the merit of the complaints from both sides and an FIR will be registered only after that.
Durai Pandian’s complaint noted that Nisha had failed to appear before the police on Saturday evening and Sunday morning when the police called for an enquiry.
Responding to Nisha’s charge that her car was damaged by unidentified people after she had lodged a complaint with the police, the lawyer, who has acted in some Tamil movies, claimed that the car was broken by a man known to her under her supervision to frame him.
“While they were damaging the car, I went there. Then she asked her friend to attack me with the hammer,” Durai Pandian said in the complaint. He also alleged that Nisha used an actor’s name to threaten him. Nisha, however, said she never stepped out the apartment because she was unwell and scared.
