Hansika mobbed on Goa beach

She believed that no one would recognise her because of her ‘South star’ status

The latest celebrity to be mobbed by fans is Hansika. In Goa for the shoot of her upcoming Tamil film 'Uyire Uyire', the incident took place at the bustling Baga beach where the unit was shooting a song sequence. A crowd gathered swiftly to catch a glimpse of the actor and people quickly grabbed their mobile phones to click photographs with her.

Speaking to DC from Goa, Hansika says, “It was around 4pm; I was shooting for a montage song with the debutant hero. Siddharth for 'Uyire Uyire' and director Rajshekar was overseeing the affairs. I thought people would not recognise me since I work mostly in South films now. To my surprise everyone identified me as they had all seen me as a child artiste. They were shouting my name and wanted to take pictures with me. Though my producer Jayapradha had arranged for proper security, the crowd went out of control and we had to stop shooting and return to the hotel. Later we shifted to a different location.”

While Hansika has been mobbed earlier too, those incidents took place in Chennai where she is a known celebrity.

On her withdrawal from Twitter reportedly due to her break-up with Simbu and her wish to avoid unwanted queries from her fans, she says, “I am not totally out of Twitter. It is just that I am busy with work now.”
