The 2013 edition of the Race of Champions (ROC) featuring drivers from various categories including Michael Schumacher and India's Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok has been put off as the Sports Authority of Thailand has announced that the annual event cannot take place as planned on December 14 and 15 owing to the ongoing anti-government protests in Bangkok.
“Our thoughts are with the Thai people during this difficult period and we wish that a peaceful solution will soon be found. The ROC has been held all over the world for 25 consecutive years and we are currently looking at options of repeating the success of last year's event in Bangkok on another date,“ said the organisers in a statement. The event is likely to be reschedule for January 2014 before the international racing season starts in late February.
