Vijayawada: People in Krishna district will have to bear six hours of power cuts from Tuesday, due to a fall in production of electricity at the NTPC.
Power production to the extent of nearly 1,500 MW, has been hit due to shortage of coal on account of the strike by Mahanadi coalmines’ employees, the APSPDCL said.
According to SE operation circle, supply of power to Vijayawada city will be cut from 7 am to 8.30 am and 1 pm to 2.30 pm. Similarly, power supply to Machilipatnam will be cut from 6 am to 7.30 am and 12 noon to 1.30 pm.
All the municipalities in district will be without power from 6 am to 8 am and 12 noon to 2 pm, while all mandal headquarters will have no power supply from 6 am to 9 am and 12 noon to 3 pm. The SE operation circle, Vijayawada, requested the people to cooperate till the production returns to normal.
