According to the police, Jospeh MD, a seventh semester student, created a Facebook post against Nobal Kumar, president of KSU unit in the college, showing him in bad light and also made abusive comments against him.

“A case has been registered against the accused under section 66 (a) of the Information Technology Act for abusing another student’’, said Francis Shelbi, Circle Inspector of police, Ernakulam Central. The police, however, is yet to interrogate the accused.

Another student, Sumesh P.Sivan has launched an indefinite sit- in in front of the college demanding action against an assistant professor who had allegedly hurled castiest abuses at him. “I have filed complaints with the police on the issue but the authorities are reluctant to act upon it.’ The police, said they were yet to confirm the allegations though an FIR had been registered.

The protests in the college unfolded about two weeks ago when eight LLB students were not allowed to take the fourth semester exams as their attendance was too poor. The students said that there was no transparency in marking the attendance, which was used as a weapon against them.
