Sivakarthikeyan: Comedy films can be purposeful too

Inspired by Sivakarthikeyan’s recent flick, 'Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam', a minor girl in Thirupur has stopped her wedding in a similar fashion. It’s said that the girl became courageous after watching the film.

“I am happy that my film has influenced people’s life in a great way,” Sivakarthikeyan told DC. “Marrying a minor girl is against the law and my film has helped her stop it from happening. Even comedy films can be purposeful in some way. It’s all about how we perceive things. All the credit goes to the director of the film, Ponram.” His next film, 'Maan Karate', directed by Thirukumaran in which he is paired with Hansika and for which he is busy shooting, also has a message, he said.
