Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh player Salil Dandriyal staged an upset when he defeated sixthseeded statemate M. Vinay Datta 9-3 in the second round of the All India Tennis Association Talent Series tournament for under-14 boys and girls, organised by the Surya Tennis Foundation at the Pallavi Model School Playground at Bowenpally in Hyderabad.
That was the only upset of the day as all other seeded players advanced to the third round.
Top-seeded Aditya Kallepalli saw off Rohit Jain 9-1, second seed V. Sudhanshu brushed past M. Vishal Kumar 9-3, A. Krishna Teja, the third seed, faced little difficulty in dispatching Aditya Ganesh 9-3, fifth-seeded Sri Jitesh Swamy staved off a challenge from Neela Renta Sainath 9-7, ninth seed V. Aravind Reddy beat Raghav C, Gannavarapu 9-3, 10th seed Gunduboina Nitin edged past Mainampati Aakash 9-8 (4), Balini Ruthvik, the 11th seed, beat Lanka Suchit Reddy 9-4, V. Akshith Reddy -seeded 15th -crushed Mallapareddy Abhinav 9-1 and 16th-seeded Thota Sai Pratheek got the better of Vemuri Krishna Sai 9-7.
