Hyderabad: A Grand Prix Gold title in Malaysia, a World Championships bronze medal, the Arjuna Award and now, the Macau Open Grand Prix crown. That sums up rising Hyderabad shuttler P.V. Sindhu's phenomenal year.
On Sunday, top seed Sindhu dominated Canada's Michelle Li, winning 21-15, 21-12 in just 37 minutes to win the Macau Open final.
“I was confident going into the final,“ Sindhu said after her triumph.
“I knew if I did not make too many mistakes, I can win the championship,“ added the 18-year-old World No.11.
Her father P.V. Ramana was ecstatic.
“We are all thrilled that Sindhu ended the year on a high. She's had a great year and I hope she continues her successful run,“ Ramana said.
