Kochi: Kerala began steadily against Madhya Pradesh's lowly first innings score in the Cooch Behar trophy U19 cricket tournament at Perinthalmanna on Sunday .
By close of the first day's play, the home side had made 69 for 2 after bowling out Madhya Pradesh for 147 runs. Joffin Jose departed after 39 and opener Vishnu N. Babu is unbeaten on 21.
Anandhu Raj bagged four wickets and Nibu Jose and Fabid Ahmed struck three each to unsettle the visitors who seemed comfortable at 71 for 2.
Opener M. Raghav top scored with 59 for Madhya Pradesh.
