Encourage children to learn fine arts, says Shobha Naidu

Kuchipudi dancer Shobha Naidu asks parents to encourage children to learn fine arts.
Anantapur: Noted Kuchipudi dancer Shobha Naidu has called upon the parents to encourage children to learn fine arts, music and dance, in addition to education.
“The education would give a life but fine arts make children how to lead a systematic life in the society,” she stated.
Inaugurating the Sreerangam Gopala Ratnam Music Institute at Sri Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha at Dwaraka Nagar here on Sunday, Shobha Naidu lamented that platforms for the fine arts were not encouraging the youth and children to mould themselves as eminent personalities in the society.
Stressing on the need to encourage classical music and dances, the eminent dancer said parents should extend support to children to learn music and dances at all levels.
She asked the parents to encourage children to watch TV serials on cultural programmes.
Inaugurating Shoba Naidu Dance Institute, former DGP Roddam Prabhakar Rao lauded services of Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha for encouraging eminent personalities since 1959.
Tirupathi region income tax commissioner R. Govinda Rajan described classical music and dances as divine art and would keep a person honest.
Quoting examples of eminent musicians, Govinda Rajan recalled many kings for encouraging carnatic music.
Gnaneswar Rao said Sangeetha Sabha was also constructing Ramalayam at the Sabha premises at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs, Gnaneswar Rao said. Ramalaya committee president A.G.Venugopal Reddy and chairman D.Harischandra Ram and several others participated on the occasion.
Asha hospital managing director N.Somayajulu announced scholar ship for the toppers in music and dance in the institute, every year.
