Booklet on courses after higher secondary
Thiruvananthapuram: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education will come out with a booklet on courses that students can pursue after Plus-Two. It will give them a feel of new generation and out-of-the-box courses.
C.M. Azeem, state coordinator of the Career Guidance and Adolescent Cell of Higher Secondary Education, told Deccan Chronicle that 53 subjects were being taught in various schools in higher secondary sector.
The booklet ‘After Plus- Two’ will explain the courses and careers in each of these subjects, Azeem said.
There are career guidance centres in 1,070 higher secondary schools in the state.
The coordinators of these centres were given three days’ residential workshop at Aluva recently.
The second round of these residential workshops would be held in Thiruvananthapuram soon. There would a third round of workshops, he said.
The handbook would be later uploaded on the website of the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education.
It will have details on various institutions teaching each subject, entrance examinations and links to websites like that of the commissioner for entrance examinations.
This would give students an idea about their goals, Azeem said.
