Real Madrid Foundation to conduct clinic in Mumbai
Mumbai: Top Spanish football club Real Madrid's Foundation is to conduct a two-day coaching clinic here from tomorrow to help around 300 children and 30 coaches from the city in honing their skills.
Real Madrid Foundation coaches Pablo Gomez Revenga, Javier Garcia Torres and Ivan Garcia Sacristan would first share the club's training methodology and techniques with the local coaches.
Once the coaches are trained, they will be given a hands-on experience and assist Real Madrid coaches to conduct four clinics for children from the city, a media release said here today.
A majority of the participating children are from orphanages or underprivileged homes. The clinic is being conducted by YKK Holding Asia (YHA) and YKK India Pvt Ltd as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the release added.
Such clinics are conducted in other Asian countries too such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
"We have been part of this project since 2012 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and warm Asian hospitality. We have realised that there is an overwhelming support for Real Madrid as a club in India," said Manuel Parreño, worldwide director of the Foundation's clinic programme and technical academies.
