With the fourth edition of Celebrity Cricket League around the corner, the action is already on with the namma Chennai team, Chennai Rhinos, helmed by actor Vishal. Some of the team members, including Vikranth and Jiiva, have already started net practice in the city’s cricket grounds.
While Shruti Haasan was the brand ambassador for the third edition last year, the big buzz is that either Nayanthara, who is on a high with back-to-back hits ('Raja Rani', 'Arrambam') during her second innings in K’town, or Trisha who is our Chennai’s very own girl, are in the fray for the hot slot this year.
The chosen star is expected to make a glamorous appearance in all the four basic matches which the Chennai Rhinos will play with eight other teams in rotation, followed by the semi finals and then the finals if Chennai Rhinos qualify. The actress will also act as a cheerleader during the matches.
Sources say that the stars are paid a substantial amount for making a special appearance. Ganga Prasad, owner of the Chennai team, is out of the country and could not be contacted to confirm the news. When DC tried to contact Vishal, he was not very forthcoming.
One may recall how Nayan was brought on board as the star ambassador for the Chennai Super Kings in the first ever IPL edition, and later sacked for not showing up at the matches. Watch this space for more!
