Nine players share lead, Hyderabad International Grandmasters chess
Hyderabad: Nine players shared the lead on Day Three of the Hyderabad International Grandmasters chess tournament at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy indoor stadium here.
In the fourth round on Wednesday, the top two matches between the leaders -GMs Vidit Santosh Gujarthi and Azer Mirzovev of Azerbaijan, as well as IM Mozharov Mikhail of Russia and GM Vladislav Borovikov of Ukraine ended without decisive results, which helped GMs Lalith Babu, S.P. Sethuraman, Alon Greenfeld of Israel and Georgian duo Merab Gagunashvili and Levan Pantsulaia catch up the leaders. Pantsulaia defeated Indian GM Arun Prasad while Lalith made short work of IM Swapnil Dhopade. Gagunashvili, Sethu and Greenfeld joined the leaders after beating Neelotpal Das, Ramnath Bhuvanesh and Swayams Mishra respectively in the fourth round.
