Metro work chugging well: Review

Kochi: A high-level team led by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) managing director Elias George expressed satisfaction over the progress of Metro Rail works, following the inspection of worksites on Wednesday.

In a first of its kind major review mission after the beginning of Metro Rail works, the high-level KMRL team conducted an extensive inspection along the Metro routes and yards.

The team reviewed the progress of work and the issues affecting the work on the ground, with particular emphasis on land acquisition and traffic management.

KMRL managing director Elias George visited the work-sites including the casting yards set up on the land provided by HMT and FACT.

After the inspection, Elias George expressed satisfaction over the progress of work on the ambitious city project.

“Works are progressing well and the small issues would be settled during the course of the work,” he said. To inform the public about the progress of Metro Rail works, the KMRL will soon publish the details on its official website.

The inspection team included officials of KMRL and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The inspection started from Aluva in the morning after which the KMRL team proceeded to Pulinchodu, Companypady, Muttom Station, Muttom Depot, Eloor casting yard, Kalamassery casting
yard, Changampuzha Park, Kaloor, M.G. Road, and concluded at the Vyttila Mobility Hub premises.
