Donning khaki is not something new for macho star Sarath Kumar. We have seen him shining in police uniform in 'I love India', 'Gambeeram', and more recently, in 'Chennayil Oru Naal' and 'Chandi'. He is also playing a tough cop in the Jayam Ravi-starrer, 'Nimirndhu Nil'.
Now, after essaying meaningful character roles, Sarath Kumar has signed up for a film, titled 'Velacheri', where he plays the lead protagonist, an encounter specialist. Director Thirumalai Vendhan has brought in Sarath once again as the hero for a movie, based on a real life police encounter that occurred in the Chennai suburb of Velachery recently. Actress Ineya will be seen as a criminal lawyer in the movie. Action sequences would be on par with Hollywood stunts, says Vendhan. “I found the script interesting. There’s emotional drama and it has great action,” says Sarath.
