Tamil cinema is undergoing a sea change of late with debutants coming out with innovative themes which also prove successful at the box office.
One such unique concept which is hitting cinema halls is 'En Uyir En Kayil', the brain child of newcomer Rahul Singh Khagwal. Starring only one character which is played by Jai Akash, the director says that the movie is about a young engineer who is trapped inside a wooden box and does not know who has put him in such a situation. “The film is about his journey and emotions as he tries to come out of the box. There is only one character visible in the film. It is the first film that was shot in such a small location — inside a 3x3 ft wooden box, and the first multilingual film in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English,” according to Rahul.
