Kim Ki-duk to attend film fest
Thiruvananthapuram: Reclusive South Korean filmmaker Kim Ki-duk, considered to be the state’s most loved foreign auteur, will be at the 18th IFFK, starting here on December 6. Though he had attended the IFFI last year, this is the first time the master of ‘spirituowacko’ films will visit Kerala. His latest film, Moebius, will be screened at the IFFK.
Moebius, screened at the Venice Film Festival this September, had a limited run in South Korea because of its sexual and violent content. Variety Magazine has called Moebius a “gloriously off-the-charts study in perversity featuring castration, rape and incest.”
Almost all his films, were screened at the IFFK over the years. His 2003 classic ‘Spring, Summer…’ is considered to be the one of the most loved IFFK films.
Kim Ki-duk is reputed to have more fans in Kerala than even in South Korea.
