Division not fair: Sake Sailajanath
Anantapur: Primary education minister and Seemandhra Representatives Forum convener Sake Sailajanath lamented that the Centre was treating North and South in the country in a different manner in connection with the formation of new states.
The present system being opted to carve out separate Telangana was not fair and uniform when compared to other states in Northern India, he pointed out.
Speaking to media at Dwma meeting hall here on Tuesday, the primary education minister made it clear the Forum would fight in all ways to prevent state’s bifurcation.
Division of state and formation of new states based on regional languages was introduced by the Congress high command long back, he said and objected for trying to violate norms in case of Andhra Pradesh division.
The culture should be considered in case of carving out Telangana state, he demanded. Sailajanath, however, hoped that state’s division would not be occurred following many technical and legal aspects even after the Centre speed up the process.
He reiterated that the resolution would be prevented in the state Assembly. Meanwhile, the minister has revealed that Chief Minister had sanctioned a drinking water pipeline project to Singanamala constituency headquarters from Mid Pennar Reservoir at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore.
The Chief Minister had also sanctioned Rs 40 crore towards the drinking water project. Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for sanctioning drinking water project, the minister observed only 0.60 tmc ft of water was enough to mitigate the situation.
