The sixth Christ Challenge Trophy all-Kerala basketball tourney proved to be a good platform for many a promising talent.
Mount Carmel GHS Kottayam and St Joseph's Pulincunnu lifted the girls' and boys' title in the sixth Christ Challenge Trophy all-Kerala basketball tournament at Thiruvalla on Monday .
In an evenly-fought girls' final, Mount Carmel defeated a high-spirited Providence GHSS Kozhikode team, 54-49, to win the decider. After leading by a point in the halftime, Mount Carmel cruised to victory with the help of Aiswarya, who scored an impressive 26 points.
In the boys' championship, St Joseph's Pulincunnu had an easy win over St Ephremes Mannanam, 7252, after leading 42-21 during half-time.
In the junior boys division host Christ central defeated Shanthal Jyothi Muttam to claim the Junior Boys title.
Sonu Jaison of St Joseph's Pulincunnu grabbed the best player while Sugeeth Nath of Ephremes Mannanam won the promising player award in the boys’ category.
Aiswarya of Mount Carmel was adjudged as the best player and Angel Scaria of Providence GHHS claimed the promising talent in the girls’ category.
