Kottayam Ladies Circle No. 48 (KLC No. 48), the ladies wing of Kottayam Round Table No. 79, recently organised a designer wear exhibition, Utsav 2013, in Kochi and Kottayam to raise funds for their charitable activities.

“Utsav is our annual fund-raising event and it has been held regularly in Kottayam for the past eight years and in Kochi for the past six years. The proceeds from the sale is used to support our educational, health and women empowerment activities and to serve the needy in the locales of Kottayam," says Rittu Skaria, a member of the KLC No. 48.

 

KLC No. 48, which is now in its 20th year, donates about  Rs9 lakh for charity activities every year. “Recently, we donated Rs2 lakh to Bala Vidyalaya and also provided chairs worth Rs1 lakh to Kottayam District Hospital. We are always on the lookout for people who require assistance and we are committed to doing our best for the betterment of society," adds Rittu.

Utsav 2013, a four-day exhibition held at Rotary Bal Bhavan in Kochi and at KPS Menon Hall in Kottayam, had about 25 exhibitors displaying products from all over the country and had footfall of about 4,000 visitors.
