Music Calling
R. Sanith participated in bala kalot savams (children's cultural fests) from his third grade and won countless prizes. It is after that he chose to get trained in Carnatic music.
Despite winning the first prize in the light music and patriotic music category at the Kerala State Youth Festival in 1989, Sanith did not consider making a career out of music. Instead, he chose to be a banker. And yet he worked with the likes of Devarajan Master, singing in the albums the late musician had made.
Now, he has crooned the song, "Manassinte Ullil Ninnevidayo", for a film called 'Love Land'.
“The director and producer of the movie -M. Haaja Mainu and Prof A. Krishnakumar -saw me perform at the Onam celebrations held by Lion's Club and asked me if I could sing in their movie," says Sanith.
He was only happy to.
“Art runs in the family. My grandfather Padmanabhan was a sculptor who worked at the Kowdiar palace. It is because of his palace work that my family moved from Chenganoor to Pattom in Thiruvananthapuram, much before I was born."
