Anantapur: Reiterating his stand on Samaikyandhra and opposing the Centre’s unilateral decision on the state’s division, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy called on the other parties to sincerely take part in preventing bifurcation process, which would badly hit the development of united state.
As part of his visit in the Rayalaseema region, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy participated in the third phase of Rachchabanda programme held at Narpala mandal headquarters in the district on Sunday.
Addressing a huge gathering of public including the beneficiaries through Rachchabanda programme, Kiran Kumar Reddy continued to raise his voice on the consequences of bifurcation and clearly said representatives from the Congress at various levels were extending support to prevent the bifurcation process by mounting pressure on the Centre.
“All other parties should come forward opposing the division process,” he said. The Chief Minister made it clear the decision on state division was a mistake.
Briefing over the consequences, Kiran Kumar Reddy said Telangana region would be more affected during the division process as Telangana is situated on upstream area than Coastal Andhra region.
“As the upstream state would never have rights on surplus waters, many Telangana areas suffer serious water crisis in future,” said the Chief Minister and lamented that development would be totally hit in both the areas due to financial burden.
Electricity supply and generation graph had lot of variation in the Telangana region than other parts of the state following poor generation of power.
The Chief Minister had formally distributed assets to the beneficiaries on the occasion and also laid foundation stones for various developmental activities in Narpala mandal.
Ministers N. Raghuveera Reddy, Ganta Sreenivasa Rao and Sake Sailajanath, several MLAs and district officials participated in the meeting.
However, senior Congress leader and Tadipatri MLA J.C. Diwakar Reddy had not taken part in Rachchabanda programme. He had differences with ministers Saialajanath and Raghuveera Reddy, sources said.
