Kadapa: Psycho Thota Venkataramana, 25, has gunned down his rival Thota Subramanyam, 45, near the G.V. Puram village in Kadapa district in the wee hours of Sunday. The psycho gunned down Subramanyam with a country revolver. Later, he escaped with the licensed gun of Subramanyam.
This is the fourth murder by Venkataramana to avenge the false case against his family in the last five years. The police picket here has not been able to arrest the psycho as he is hiding in the forests.
Police said that there were disputes between the two families in the G.V. Puram village of Obulavaripalli mandal in the district. Village elders had allegedly insulted Venkataramana's family during a private attempt at settlement eight years ago.
After this, Venkataramana turned hostile against the elders of the village. He became a psycho five years ago and killed K. Venkataratnam in 2007 and Ramakrishnaa in 2012.
The government sanctioned a separate police post at the village to protect the villagers from the attacks by psycho Venkataramana. He attacked Thota Surbamanyam in the wee hours of Sunday while the victim was on his field. He gunned down Subramanyam with a country revolver. Later, he escaped with the licensed revolver of Subramanyam.
Tension gripped the village as villagers staged a protest against the police for not curbing the activities of the psycho who had been challenging the police since the last five years. Police registered a case and launched a manhunt in the nearby forests.
