Seemandhra lawyers to continue their agitation till Dec 21
Rajahmundry: The Seemandhra Lawyers Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Sunday decided to continue to abstain from court work till December 21 to protest against the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
The Seemandhra Lawyers JAC co-convener Muppalla Subba Rao told this reporters during a meeting in Kadapa. An eight-point resolution, including that about abstaining court work till December 21, was passed.
They decided to hold a meeting on December 21 at Eluru in West Godavari district to discuss the future course of action. Another resolution states that a dharna agitation will be organised in front of Andhra Pradesh Assembly when the Telangana bill comes for discussion in the House.
Over 35,000 lawyers have been protesting against the decision to carve out separate Telangana. "Our agitation will continue till a statement from Central government in favour of United Andhra Pradesh," Rao said.
