Seemandhra, Telangana leaders get tense
Hyderabad: While the Centre has to speed up the process of the state division, four issues are creating tension for both Telangana and Seemandhra leaders.
The most worrying issues are, as a joint capital what will Hyderabad city’s limits? It’s administration; Bhadrachalam, and Article 371 (D).
On these issues the leaders of Telangana and Seemandhra are making different demands to the Centre.

It is learnt that the Group of Ministers (GoM) are considering two proposals on the limits of Hyderabad city, as a joint capital. First proposal is Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and second one is Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits. But the Telangana Congress leaders demand was Hydera-bad revenue district limits should be made as joint capital.
Some Seemandhra leaders are demanding that after the state division, Hyderabad city should be made the Union Territory and some others are demanding that the HMDA limits should be made as joint capital.
According to GoM’s opinion, the law and order and revenue departments in the joint capital should be in the hands of the Central government. For this proposal, Telangana leaders are opposing.
Seemandhra people want Bhadrachalam town to merge with Seemandhra region. The main worry of Seemandhra people was if the Bhadrachalam division is with Telangana region the construction of prestigious and multipurpose Polavaram project will face difficulties.
But the Telangana leaders do not want to lose the Bhadrachalam town.
