Suriya, a lovable rowdy in Lingu’s film?
Of late, it looks like Mumbai seems to be hot location for Tamil filmmakers. Mani Ratnam had a story backdrop set in Mumbai in his flicks 'Nayagan' and 'Bombay', but that was many years ago. Recently, director Murugadoss and Vijay's blockbuster, 'Thuppakki', had a Mumbai milieu which set the ball rolling.
Vijay's last release, 'Thalaivaa', too was shot in Mumbai; so was Ajith's 'Arrambam'. Now, as published first in this newspaper, Suriya's untitled flick with Lingusamy and Santhosh Sivan's cinematography, went on the floors on Friday with a small formal pooja at Bandra. Suriya dons a bearded look for this racy thriller and is touted to play a lovable rowdy. Portions involving Suriya, Manoj Bajpai, Vidyut Jamwal and Rajpal Yadav who form the supporting cast will be canned in some unseen locations in Mumbai over the next 25 days.
Sources say that the heroine, Samantha, will be joining the unit next week which will shift to Goa for a 15-day schedule thereafter.
Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the tracks. “Santhosh Sivan sir will be introducing the state-of-the-art digital camera, RED Dragon, for the first time in Tamil cinema. The RED engineers from the US are also going to be part of the technical team," said producer Bose of Thirrupathi Brothers.
