The first look of 'Gunday' is out and the Aditya Chopra production has garnered positive feedback. But while Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are very much the stars of the promo, 'Gunday’s' leading lady Priyanka Chopra is nowhere in sight.
“In fact, this seems to be a trend of sorts when it comes to leading ladies these days, especially for films that are dominated by the leading men,” one trade expert commented. “In the teaser promo of 'Krrish 3', Priyanka just had a shot or two. Ditto for Katrina Kaif and the first look of 'Dhoom 3'. Now with Gunday as well, the makers have seemingly taken a conscious call to highlight only the leading men for now.”
A source associated with the film, however, told us that PeeCee would soon be seen in the trailers and promos that are to be released. “Priyanka too is an integral part of Gunday,” our source said. “She will be highlighted — prominently — very soon. What we have seen is just a teaser and since the film has Ranveer and Arjun as the titular gunday, it made sense to unveil their scenes first.”
PeeCee, however, doesn’t seem to be bothered by her screen time in the first look. While she joined her co-stars in publicising the teaser on social networking sites, she joked, sportingly, that her absence was for a reason.
