Dempo ready to take on United Sports Club

Dempo SC who defeated Churchill Brothers in their last match, will look to carry forward the momentum when they take on United Sports Club.

Duler (Goa): An upbeat Dempo SC, who defeated Churchill Brothers in their last match, will look to carry forward the momentum when they take on United Sports Club tomorrow in an Airtel I-League match here in Mapusa.

The Goa outfit has won two matches, lost as many and drawn four so far in the country's premier football championship this year. A two-week break after their match against Churchill Brothers has helped Dempo some players to recover from injuries.

With key striker Billy Mehmet declared fit and five recruits from now defunct club Palian Arrows available for selection, Dempo coach Arthur Papas has the opportunity to choose the best squad for tomorrow's match. Dempo, placed 9th at the moment with ten points from eight matches, are looking a settled side and Papas is firm in his belief that the team has the potential to finish among the top in the competition.

"The team is looking fresh after the break and are looking to carry forward their winning way tomorrow against United Sports Club," stated Papas. United SC, on the other hand, are no pushovers and are expected to give a tough fight to the local team. The club has done fairly well till now and they are placed 6th on the table with 12 points from eight matches. Coach Eelco Schattorie is hoping his team will win the match and move up the ladder.
