CM Jayalalithaa encourages party men to win all the 40 seats in the ensuing LS polls.
Chennai: AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has exhorted her party men to strive hard and win all the 40 seats (including the lone seat in Puducherry) in Tamil Nadu in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
Solemnising the marriages of the wards of four senior members in the party here she referred to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and said one should choose a lofty ambition in life and dedicate the life to achieve it.
“Tomorrow’s India is in our hands,” she said. “You should follow the words of Swami Vivekananda not only in your personal life but also in public life. I exhort you to work to attain the goal of winning all the 40 seats in the coming Lok Sabha polls,” she appealed.
The rank and file in the party envisage a greater role for their supremo at national level and want Jayalalithaa to take up the reins at the Centre to ensure the rights of the Tamils. Even Jayalalalithaa has on many occasions said there would be a regime change at the Centre and that she would throw out the anti-people policies of the Congress-led UPA.
She said the party workers should consistently strive towards achieving the goal of winning all the 40 seats in the forthcoming general elections and asked both the functionaries and cadres to totally dedicate themselves to this lofty goal.
The Chief Minister solemnised the marriages of the wards of State Highways Minister Edappadi K. Palanisamy, Hindu religious and Charitable Endowments minister P. Chendurpandian, Tourism Minister S.P. Shanmuganathan and Puducherry legislator Om Sakthi Sekar. Narrating two stories, she asked the newly wedded couples to lead a happy life.
