THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 67th National Aquatic Championship for men and women will be held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar international aquatic complex at Pirappancode near here from November 20 to 24.
About 700 swimmers representing various states, union territories and orgnisations like railways, police and services will participate in the competitions on swimming, diving and water polo.
Leading swimmers and divers of the country will be participating in the event which is also the preliminary selection trial for Indian teams for Asian and Common Wealth games of 2014. The competitions will begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday .
Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will formally inaugurate the event on Wednesday at a function to the presided over by local MLA Palode Ravi at 4.30 pm.
The Kerala Aquatic Association is organising the events with the support of the Swimming Federation of India.
