Disappointed at West Indies Test performance: Richardson

Richardson, the team's operational manager, however expressed optimism that the visitors would do well in the one-dayers.

Kochi: Former West Indies player Richie Richardson today said he was disappointed with his team's dismal performance in the two-match Test series, which went in India's favour.

Richardson, the team's operational manager, however expressed optimism that the visitors would do well in the one-dayers.

"I am disappointed with the results in the Test series but we will do well in the one dayers," he said.

Describing Tendulkar as 'humbleness personified' and a 'down-to-earth' person, Richardson, who went round the 'Sachin Tendulkar' pavilion after being declared open by Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, said it was 'very good' and 'beautiful'.

Asked to compare Brian Lara and Tendulkar, his response was there is no comparison between the two.

"Tendulkar has made an impact not only in India, but throughout the globe," he said.

He lauded Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for putting up a pavilion in the name of Tendulkar.
