Sadhu maharaj in the house!
Try not to go by his looks.
Instead, delve into the deep and insightful comic relief that Sadhu Kokila's versatile acting prowress displays. An asset to the Sandalwood industry , he might feature frequently in comedy roles, but he is also a successful director, a great musician and singer too. Fondly known as Sadhu Maharaj, he has garnered immense love and support from the Kannada audience over the years.
He is a favourite of almost all the leading actors and production houses of the Sandalwood industry.
With Kannada films crossing over 100 releases this year, Sadhu Kokila has featured in at least half of them or more. “Though at times, I am careful in selecting films, I have always accepted roles irrespective of how small or big the characters are. I strongly feel that it has boosted my career. I am grateful to my fans and the people in the industry, who have been constant in their support of me."
A great admirer of Bollywood comedian Johnny Lever, Sadhu is a natural talent despite few critics who compare his mannerism and timing with comedians from other industries. Insofar as Sandalwood is concerned, great comedians such as Hasya Chakravarthi Narasimha Raju, Hasya Brahma Balakrishna fondly known as Balanna, Musuri Krishnamurthy, and many senior artist have ruled the industry to a greater effect at times when comedians were given equal importance similar to that of leading actors.
Unlike the glorious past, at present, the role of comedians does not run parallel to leading characters, but artists such as Sadhu Kokila, Doddanna, Mukhya Mantri Chandru, Komal, Rangayana Raghu, Sharan and others have managed to keep the audience in good humour.
Sadhu, in his upcoming film 'Chaddi Dost' acts alongside Rangayana Raghu.
He is back with a laughter riot for his fans, with a universal subject of friendship with a humorous touch. “I am very impressed by 'Chaddi Dost'. It talks about friendship and the best part of it is the humour. One can see a different Sadhu and Rangayana Raghu. In fact, the real hero of the film are the dialogues, the dialogue writer Nataraj has done a tremendous job. It is definitely going to be one of my best performances."
Praising the team's efforts, 'Chaddi Dost' director PC Sekar and the film which is releasing on November 29, Sadhu jokingly says, “I feel like I am been subjected to experiments by the director in the film. When I saw 'Chaddi Dost', I was wondering what the director has done to us. I look like Super Star Rajnikanth and Rangayana Raghu looks like Gemini Ganeshan!“ Presently, he is also directing 'Supero Ranga' starring real star Upendra and 'Googly' fame Kriti Kharbanda and is in its final stages.
Apart from 'Chaddi Dost', he will be seen predominantly in 'Gajakesari', in a comedy role alongside 'Rajahuli' fame Yash in the lead.
His first love is music, he plans to return to composing for the upcoming film 'Nagshekar', which is yet to be launched.
