State BJP wants Narendra Modi to tour Tamil Nadu
Chennai: BJP’s prime ministerial candidate for Lok Sabha polls Narendra Modi is likely to visit the state again.
The state unit of the party is planning to prevail upon him to visit the state and address rallies at some of the important places in Tamil Nadu.
According to party president Pon Radhakrishnan there is likelihood of Modi undertaking a tour of the state. If it materialises, he will address gaÂthering at five places including the city, CoiÂmbatore, Madurai and Tirunelveli.
Sources in the party said the meetings were aimed at attracting more youth and first time voters. Quoting party senior M. Venkaiah Naidu, a senior party leader, said Modi wave was sweeping across the country and the electorate from the southern states particularly Tamil Nadu would lead the nation in ushering a change at the Centre.
Meanwhile, the saffron party is gearing up for the “visit the villages” campaign throughout TaÂÂmil Nadu ahead of polls. Pon RadhÂakÂrishnan is busy organising meetings at state, district and panchayat levels and urging party members to meet the rural voters as Modi has instructed them.
