Shivangi is a better dancer: Ripu Daman Handa
Winner of Masterchef India season three, Ripu Daman Handa surprised his family and fans alike by participating in 'Nach Baliye 6' with girlfriend Shivangi Verma. Ripu admits that dancing is alien to him and though the couple has got good comments from the judges he isn’t confident as yet.
He says, “I was shocked when the channel approached me for Nach Baliye. Shivangi wanted to do the show so we accepted the offer. On the first day of the rehearsals, I told my choreographer that I can only do bhangra.”
He adds that though Shivangi is the better dancer, the experience has been tougher for her. He says, “Shivangi, like me, isn’t trained. But her body has rhythm so learning the choreography is easier for her. Since I find dancing tough, I end up hitting Shivangi a lot of times but she doesn’t complain.”
Ripu gets nostalgic as he goes on to recall his love story. “Shivangi and I were neighbours. I had proposed to her in school but she rejected my proposal. Later in college, she agreed and we have been dating since five years now. My family knew about the relationship and they were okay with it, since I was happy. Shivangi informed her family only after I won Masterchef, because I used to work as a gym instructor before that and we felt no family would agree to let their daughter marry a gym instructor. We plan to marry when we are 28, right now she is just 22 and I am 23 years old. My parents keep telling me, humari tension mit chuki hai, tere liye ladki nahi dhoondni padegi.”
“I want to perform with Shivangi on Ishq Wala Love and Main Rang Sharbaton Ka,” ends Ripu on a romantic note.
