Jagan Mohan Reddy gets CPI support on Article 3

Hyderabad: YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy got support for his demand for amendment of Article 3, of the Constitution, to prevent its misuse by any government at the Centre when he and his team met Left party national leaders.

Reddy handed over a note to them and requested them to oppose the Centre’s decision on state bifurcation.

CPI general-secretary, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy made it clear to Jagan that they will not change their party’s policy and will support the formation of Telangana state.

However, he assured that the CPI will support the campaign for amendment of article 3 to prevent its misuse by any Central government.

CPM general-secretary Prakash Karat and senior leader Sitaram Yechuri told Reddy that they party will oppose the state division.
