He will not charge a rupee if he is offered to play the role of Swami Vivekananda
Venkatesh has always wanted to play the role of Swami Vivekananda and last year, he had even announced a film on the life of the renowned philosopher and spiritual leader. But the project, which was to be directed by Mani Shankar, has now been stalled. “It’s Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary this year and I was supposed to begin my film long ago. But someone has already made a film on him, so I’ve dropped the idea for now,” Venkatesh says, adding, “It’s been my dream role.”
Will he still do the role if someone else makes the film? “I will act for free. How can I take money for a film about Swami Vivekananda? He has been my biggest source of inspiration,” Venky remarks.
