Sashaying in Singapore

Who doesn’t love being serenaded by their other halves to a luxurious wine and dine evening.

This was a family trip after a long time as I have been really busy. These are my top four favourite picks that we all loved in Singapore.

Pandas at the Singapore Zoo: Never have I seen such a well thought-out establishment for animals, where they are allowed to freely move about their business. Giraffes, snakes, polar bears and a hundred other species from all over the world, all strolling about in their natural habitats. But the highlights of this particular zoo were the two cutest pandas named Kai Kai and Jia Jia.

Singapore’s very own Chinatown: If a little retail therapy is what you need, just like me, head straight down to Chinatown. There is a temple, a mosque and a Buddhist temple within a kilometre of each other in Chinatown. Spectacularly combining its ancestral heritage with modern forms, Singaporean culture really does encapsulate the best of both worlds.

Singapore Flyer: Who doesn’t love being serenaded by their other halves to a luxurious wine and dine evening, especially if it’s 165 metres high up in the sky! Raj and I got to spend some quality time as we ascended into the sky above the colourful city lights, all from the comfort of a climate-controlled glass capsule. The Singapore Flyer experience was by far one of the most romantic for me personally, and a must for all couples.Ever evolving Singaporean experience: I have been to Singapore some 20 odd times, but every time feels like a whole new adventure. The city state is so dynamic in its essence that one can only hope to cover all of it in a single visit. It embodies aspects of both the east and the west in the most harmonious of ways. And its ever evolving nature makes it a paradise for lifetime experiences, with something for everyone! My husband Raj, my son Vir and I haven’t been able to spend such a wholesome family holiday in a long time, and that made this trip to Singapore an even more special one, a holiday we took home with us.
