Exercise to ease joint pains: Shilpa Shetty
Maintaining a slim figure post pregnancy is difficult.

Shilpa Shetty
Maintaining a slim figure post pregnancy is difficult. Believe it or not, I had put on 20 kg after my baby’s birth. A gap of three to four months later, I started working out with a fitness trainer and literally sweated it out to regain my size. I have had to mostly concentrate on my knees and the lower back to ward off any kind of joint problems which commonly aggravate first-time mothers after delivery. We also resorted to yoga, a bit of weight-training on alternate days and a little helping of cardio intermittently.
My diet chart is also well-chalked out. Every morning, I begin my breakfast at 8 am with a bowl filled with oats or two egg-whites with a fruit. Later in the day, I consume a glass of vegetable juice. The luncheon that usually follow the workout schedule is a platter of green vegetables, sprouts, two rotis and salads. In the afternoon, I regularly gorge on either two eggs or fruit slices and at dusk, I polish off one fruit or some sweet potatoes from my plate. For dinner, I chew some hari sabzi (vegetables) with two rotis or fish with salads.
