Mega godfathers
Chiranjeevi and his brother Pawan Kalyan these days are busy mentoring their nephews for their debut.
While Pawan has taken his sister’s son, Sai Dharam Tej, under his wing for his debut Rey, Chiranjeevi is taking an active interest in his nephew, Nagababu’s son Varun Tej’s first film.
While Rey, is ready to hit the screens on Sankranthi, Varun Tej’s film is yet to start. The family however, recently announced that Srikanth Addala of the movie 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' fame would handle Varun’s first film.
“When I met Sai Dharam, he was playing cricket and I asked him if he was interested in doing a film. He then told me that he was Chiranjeevi’s nephew,” says YVS Choudhary, “That’s when I found out that his debut would be decided by Pawan Kalyan. I met Pawan and narrated the subject and he liked it.”
Once Pawan gave his green signal, YVS met Nagababu and his brother Chiranjeevi. “I believe their acceptance is also important but Pawan is taking the responsibility,” he adds.
Sources say that Pawan Kalyan has also financially helped Sai Dharam’s project. Sai Dharam, meanwhile, has signed a second film, 'Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham'.
Varun Tej’s film, is coming next year. Director Srikanth Addala and Nagababu met up with Chiranjeevi for his go-ahead. “Any big decision in the family will be taken by Chiranjeevi,” says a source.
While a few directors had narrated story ideas to Chiranjeevi for Varun, he had rejected them all before giving his nod to Srikanth Addala.
