Abraham to Siddaramiah: Drop your lad

A petition has been filed before the Governor H.R. Bhardwaj on Thursday.

Bengaluru: A petition has been filed before the Governor H.R. Bhardwaj on Thursday seeking sanction for prosecution against Chief Minister Siddaramiah, for his act of shielding Infrastructure and Information minister Santosh Lad in his involvement (as a partner in M/s V.S.Lad & Sons-ML No.2290-Lakshmipura village) in illegal mining.

According to social activist T.J. Abraham, he has petitioned the Governor on Thursday seeking sanction for prosecution against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for protecting Lad, who is involved in illegal mining, production and dispatch to an extent of 1,78,21,403 metric tonnes in a road length of 7.74 Kms, with activities in three villages — Krishnanagar, Lakshmipura and Bhujan Nagar in Sandur Taluk of Bellary District.

This was clearly established by the Lokayukta Report, CEC Report and SC orders and in various government documents, the petitioner added.

The petition also highlights the claim by Siddaramiah that M/s V.S.Lad and Sons does not figure in the Lokayukta report into illegal mining in Karnataka.

“Taking advantage of the political clout of Santosh Lad the mining that was permitted to M/s V.S. Lad and Sons in Lakshmipura village, the company appears to have extended their mining activity to Krishnanagar, Bhujan Nagar in Sandur Taluk of Bellary District as reflected in the files opened in the name of M/s V.S.Lad and Sons at Serial No.2053 and Serial No.8162 in Form 4.1(A) of applications maintained by the Director of Mines and Geology with the files opened on (blank) with 9 pages for Krishna Nagar and 11/12/2000 with 66 pages for Bhujanagar,” the petition states.
