Audio of 'Kochadaiyaan' to be unveiled on Rajinikanth’s birthday

Looks like D-Day has finally arrived for the innumerable fans of Superstar Rajinikanth!

Looks like D-Day has finally arrived for the innumerable fans of Superstar Rajinikanth! It is official! The audio of his much awaited magnum opus, 'Kochadaiyaan', which is his daughter Soundarya Ashwin’s maiden directorial venture, will be released on the 'Enthiran' star’s birthday on December 12.

Confirming the news, KC’s co-producer, Dr Murali Manohar, tells DC, “Yes we have decided to bring the audio of the spectacle on Rajini sir’s birthday.

We are still working on the logistics, and planning to release the movie on January 10.” With Pongal, the major festival for Tamilians, and Sankranthi, for the people of Andhra, falling on January 14, 'Kochadaiyaan', slated to hit cinema halls on January 10, a Friday, will have a clear four days of leverage from the week-end and the festival.

Widely hailed as India’s first 3D performance-capturing flick, Rajinikanth has the credit of being the first Indian star to be captured on Motion Capture Technology. While Rajini essays a dual role, Deepika Padukone makes her foray into K’town opposite the 'Enthiran' star. Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nassar play key characters.

In an earlier interview to DC, music maestro A.R. Rahman, who has composed the tracks for KC, had said that it was tricky. “It is musically challenging. In a way, we have to go in the opposite direction. The music has to convey so much emotion! It is, in a way, synthetic and played through the computer. Even though, the main motions are there, the music has to give all the flesh and blood which it requires. Four years ago, it would have been very hard to recognise it was Rajinikanth, it was just animated. Now, we have his whole body’s motions captured very close to him. You can make him young, or fair, make him dance. Exciting things are coming. It’s a giant leap in technology.”

Yet another interesting aspect is that after 20 years Rajinikanth returned to the recording studio to croon a number for KC. The track is said to be in a philosophical tone in recital form. Rajini has sung in Tamil and Hindi. There are a few dialogues in between, which the actor has mouthed in his trademark style.

The release of Kochadaiyaan in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu (as Vikramasimha) and several other languages, including Japanese, makes it the most global Rajinikanth release ever.
