Sanjay Leela Bhansali is very particular: Subhash Shinde
Make-up man Subhash Shinde, who has worked in films such as 'Black', 'Grand Masti' and 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela' among others, says the last one has been his most challenging project till date. Subhash, who has worked on the looks of Richa Chadda, Supriya Pathak and Sharad Kelkar, says, “Working in a Sanjay Bhansali film is always a challenge because he is personally involved and is very particular about what he wants. For Richa and Supriya he wanted me to create the authentic Rajasthani look with blackish green tattoos on the neck, hands and legs. It would take two hours to get the exact design, colour and measurements for continuity purpose.”
He adds, “The make-up had to look natural. Shooting in Rajasthan made the skin oily and dusty. So it was quite a challenge to maintain the looks.”
Speaking about another one of his favourite projects, Subhash says, “Black was my first film with SLB. That time not many knew about the concept of airbrush make-up, which gives a natural look. I remember going abroad to source make-up for that film. The end result was for everyone to see.”
