Hyderabad gets ready for Maha encounter ?
Hyderabad: After two draws from two matches, Hyderabad will be keen to put up a more authoritative performance against the visiting Maharashtra when they begin the third match of their Ranji Trophy campaign in Group ‘C’ at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Thursday.
While the first match against Andhra saw the home side, led by the young Akshath Reddy, loosen the grip and let the visitors escape with a draw, the second saw a much better show, even though it ended in a draw.
Hyderabad can take heart from the second match, away to Assam. Two batsmen — opener Tirumalasetti Suman and promising southpaw B. Sandeep — scored fine centuries in the face of a massive total racked up by Assam.
Come Thursday morning, Akshath and his boys will look to pool together all the positives over the first two matches and give the visitors — who earned a comfortable win against Tripura at Pune last week — a run for their money.
