Draw energy from the sun

Sun is a source of energy that balances our body chakras and heals our mind and soul

The sun is referred to as Surya devta. It is perceived as power and strength, and is the only visible god as per mythology. Surya is the chief of Indian planets besides being an important element in Hindu astrology. In astrology, people ruled by Surya represent power, will power, fame, courage, authority and leadership, and often have prominent eyes. Besides these, there are many other virtues associated with the Sun Lord.

Sun Meditation
Sun meditation is a form of meditation that allows the physical, mental and emotional body of a person to draw energy from the sun. It is usually practiced in the morning just after sunrise or in the evening before sunset by gazing into the sun.

Sun meditation has enumerable benefits that include balancing of emotions and recovering from physical and mental ailments such as eyesight problems, headaches, mig-raine, back pain, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, and many other chronic ailments. Unhealthy eating habits, over-indulgence of senses, anger, fear and depression can also be cured by practicing sun meditation.

To practise sun meditation, look at the sun and lift your face to its light with your eyes open. After a few seconds you may feel an itch in the eye but try to keep them open and concentrate. After a while, you will see that the size of the sun has shrunk to a small dot surrounded by colour. Now let this light illuminate and go inside your physical body. Imagine it going through all the chakras first, then parts of your body starting from head to toe, and then each and every cell and bone. Feel the organs and bones fill with sunlight, glowing and vibrating. With the aura spreading, feel the warmth of the sun, and the warmth turning into heat and this heat burning off all negativity in the physical and emotional body. It will take away all fears and anxiety. Once done, close your eyes and allow your body to cool down. Then open your eyes, fold your arms and thank the Sun god.

Surya Mantra
The main Surya mantra is Om Suryaya Namah, which should be chanted with bowed head at the first glance of the sun. After chanting the mantra, thank the Sun God and show gratitude for giving you this life and a new day to live.

Offering water to the sun
Sun is a source of energy and by offering water to the sun, we strengthen our energy and balance our body chakras. It also takes away any imbalance in the astrological charts by giving us health, wealth, prosperity and happiness.

Yogic healing
Surya namaskar, also known as sun salutation, is a set of twelve yogic postures. It’s an age-old yogic practice and is said that one should do 108 namaskars a day, as that’s an auspicious number to please the sun god. Surya namaskar is usually performed early in the morning, at sunrise, or in the evening, when the sun is setting with a specific breathing pattern and chanting of continuous mantras. The said benefits of surya namaskar include weight loss, regulated menstrual cycle, flexibility of muscles, improved concentration, self-confidence and reduced depression.
