Hansika Motwani has sponsored another child, taking the count to 24 kids whom she is currently supporting. Added to this are the 30 cancer patients that she supports.
“I saw the child outside recently and I learnt that she had no one to support her besides an aunt. As long as the child has a blood relative alive, it becomes difficult for one to adopt. I am supporting the child financially with food, clothes and medicines,” she says.
Hansika has got the trait to reach out to the less fortunate from her mother. “Even as a child, as young as 2 or 3, I remember going with my mother to old-age homes and orphanages. That’s where it comes from I guess,” says the actor.
All of the children she has sponsored are based in Mumbai — where she is currently based. “When I am in Mumbai, I spend a lot of time with them. They come over and eat with me,” she says.
She had booked a bus and took the children to buy crackers and sweets for Diwali on November 4. However, her ongoing nine projects will not allow her to spend Children’s Day with the kids. “But I have arranged for sweets and gifts for them,” she adds.
Talking about her upcoming projects, she says, “In Tollywood, I am working on four films. 'Golmaal 3' with Vishnu will be the first and then there are films with Naga Chaitanya, Ravi Teja and Nithin,” she concludes.
