Radhika Kumaraswamy takes to sweet talking

Radhika Kumaraswamy's comeback film is keeping her fans happy.

She turned a year older this week (on Monday) and her love for films has been a never-ending saga.

Radhika Kumaraswamy is proud of the fact that her films have shaped her life and enthused her. Away from her first love -acting -for over six years, she has been busy as a mother and taking care of her family.

Film production under home banner Shamika Enterprises too has made Radhika Kumaraswamy a multitasker. Now, she is back on the silver screen with a bang in the film 'Sweety Nanna Jodi'.

In a candid tete-a-tete Radhika reveals what’s taking her forward...

After a long gap of six years, how does it feel to be back?

I knew that it would be a difficult task to win over the audience, especially as I was coming back after a gap of six years. I had made up my mind that I would put my heart and soul into it. I was also prepared that I would not make another comeback if my fans did not accept me and would just produce and distribute good Kannada films.

How does it feel now?

I am overwhelmed by the love and support. When I took up 'Sweety', I was clear that it would be a simple film without much experimentation. With the initial success, my responsibility has doubled.

How did you prepare?

With the support of my better half and family, I was able to do it. As I was also producing the film, it was a challenge. It would be a lie if I said that I was not on a ‘diet.’ I love to sleep for long and enjoy food, however I controlled myself.

How challenging was it?

Being a mother, my priority is my daughter, husband and family. I had to be back home before 7.30 pm. Barring exceptional cases, I cannot do night time shooting. Production is another major challenge. I had to be careful about the costumes too yet fit into the mood.

What’s next, direction?

Frankly, I do not wish to take up directing in the near future. I want to act and produce good films. I have been looking at scripts and so far I will be acting alongside Sandalwood King Shivarajkumar in a film directed by Sai Prakash, who directed 'Anna Thangi' starring Shivarajkumar and I, which went onto become a box office hit.
