The title of the movie rings a nice bell and has been taken out of the lyrics of a popular Kannada song.
The film 'Sweety Nanna Jodi' starring Radhika Kumaraswamy, Aditya and Ramya Krishna is a simple film. There is no doubt that the movie produced and distributed by none other than Radhika herself is an attempt to relaunch in the Kannada film industry after a long gap.
The actress who is known for her acting prowess has to a great extent succeeded in her comeback attempt but for a few minor flaws in the film itself. Her presence on the screen, considering that she is back after six years, gives out a clear signal that she is not done yet, and is in infact ready for a fresh innings.
Apart from 'Sweety Nanna Jodi' being an attempt to relaunch the actress in the lead, the film itself has nothing new to offer. It is a regular masala flick which once was a favourite subject of south Indian movie makers. The director Vijayalakshmi Singh, has yet again opted for a simple subject with an attempt to make it colourful.
Radhika (Priya) plays the role of a techie in an emerging MNC company who falls for Siddharth played by Aditya. However, the romance takes a turn when Priya finds out that Siddharth is the son of a rich and successful entrepreneur Vasundhara Devi played by Ramya Krishna.
An obsessed rich mother who brought up her son alone finds it hard to cope with his newfound love. Will Priya manage to win over Vasundhara, or will she sacrifice her love, is for the fans to watch out for. Radhika's tremendous dancing talent is a treat to watch, but the movie could have been much better without the six songs too many!
