Meera bags yet another plum role

The film 'Ithinumapuram' is set in the 1975 period and moves on from there to the present year.

Meera Jasmine is getting quite active in Mollywood and has a number of projects in the pipeline.

The latest one will see her do the lead in the women-centric film 'Ithinumapuram' directed by Manoj Alunkal.

The film is also scripted by Manoj and talking about this he says, “The film is set in the 1975 period and moves on from there to the present year. Meera plays a woman from a very rich Nair family having all the comforts of life and is doted on by her parents. But she is a woman with chowa dosham because of which her marriage doesn't take place. Meanwhile, she falls in love with someone and leaves home with him. The incidents that happen after wards and her life after wards and her life after her marriage form the rest of the story."

The others in the cast include Riyaz Khan, Lalu Alex, Siddique, Urmila Unni and Lakshmi Priya. The costumes will be very different reflecting the period being talked about.

The film will be a family story and the shoot will start in Chertala by December 5. The film will be produced under the Agna Media banner and the executive producer is Sreekumar. The other projects that Meera has are the V.K.Prakash directed 'Mazhaneerthullikkal' and the Shajiyem directed 'Miss Lekha Tharoor Kaanunathhu'.
