Samsung set to disrupt midrange segment with Galaxy M40

The handset is the first from this series to come with an Infinity-O display.

Samsung’s newly launched M-Series devices have made a significant impact in the country and now, building on this momentum, the South Korean smartphone giant has launched the Galaxy M40, a midrange smartphone that will take on a market currently dominated by Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Redmi, Vivo and OPPO.

Targeting the millennials and the Gen Z, the Galaxy M40 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ Infinity-O display, a Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor and a triple rear camera setup. Samsung has stated that they had been propelled to launch the M40 because of the unprecedented response to the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 smartphones.

To provide superior screen experience to consumers, Galaxy M40 comes with a stunning 6.3-inch FHD+ Infinity-O display, the feature that’s currently found only on Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S10 line. With a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and on-screen sound technology, Galaxy M40 is a 7.9 mm sleek device, weighing just 168 gm. It comes with sturdy Gorilla Glass 3. Galaxy M40 is powered with Snapdragon 675 Octa-core processor that not only enhances user experience through excellent network speed but also allows smooth multitasking and low power consumption.

The new Galaxy M40 sports best-in-class triple rear camera to address the millennials’ need for capturing important moments on the go. The triple camera setup on Galaxy M40 comprises a 32 MP main camera with AI scene optimizer with F1.7 aperture for stunning daylight shots and vivid night photos. It also features a 5 MP depth camera and an ultra-wide8 MP camera. For millennials who like to communicate via videos, Galaxy M40 comes with a host of video features such as 4K video recording, Slo-mo and Hyperlapse. Galaxy M40 supports a 3,500mAh battery and 15W USB type C fast charging feature that ensures 3X speed as compared to the normal charging.

Galaxy M40 will be priced at Rs 19,990. Starting noon of June 18, Galaxy M40 will be available for sale on Amazon.in and on Samsung’s own online shop for sale in beautiful Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue gradient colours.
